It is still pretty new. A lot of the kinks are still being worked out. The jewelry is all pretty experimental at this point. A bunch of piercers and myself did them on eachother and out of a dozen or so only one kept it in but she adjusted the jewelry to where is it easily removed when she wants.

hey, i have one in the anti-eyebrow region. i started out with two, with one on each side, but the right one was fussy so i took it out. they were done with 18g twisted nostril-screw-looking things. i have spoken with some people and apparrently there is jewelry available that has a more stable anchoring foot or base w/e. he said they run around 120$ because they're handmade. anyhow, mine was pretty painless and healed quite fast. i got it done in az at club tattoo. jim d is the man. i think body manipulations may do them here. im not sure.

Industrial Strength just came out with a new prototype jewelry. It is working out amazing. Both the piercers (John Lopez and David Potter) at Slave to the Needle here in ballard are using them and they are working out amazing. Zero problems, easy insertion, super fast healing. I've experienced both methods (the old nostril screw, and now the new jewelry). If you can find a piercing artist that has access to the new jewelry I highly recommend it. All together the process takes only a few minutes, with some minor pinching and tugging. I've personally seen about 15 done with the new jewelry and they are all working out VERY well. Mine is kind of like a low anti-eyebrow, I've seen them placed as a madison, center of forehead, anti eyebrows, horns, etc..

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the piercers at: slavetotheneedle@comcast.net

How come no one in San Francisco can do this? I have asked every piercer and none say that they are capable of doing this and are still using tygon and other crap. If NYONE KNOWS ANYONE LET ME KNOW.

maybe its not legal in CALIFORNIA...its not legal in KANSAS.....no lasserations in the skin....
not that the piercers i work with would want to do them...they seem to think its a bad idea.....
        i think i agree...cool effect..but asking for trouble..

Seems there is now also a problem in Florida. My scalp microdermals were rejecting so my piercer removed them and said he couldn't redo them because the state is now reviewing the entire dermal process.

Hi I had a dermal anchoring in France and it is now infected so I am looking for a piercer in Los Angeles to look at it.
If you know a reliable one please let me know

          Thank you.

i believe you can also order the same jewelry yourself from painfulpleasures.com if the piercers themselves don't carry it. they're not too expensive, if i remember correctly. i don't know if it's by industrial strength but it looks very similar to the ones posted in the microdermal article on bmezine.

i've encountered a few fully healed ones, apparently they're not quite as finicky as the standard hard-to-heals such as cartilage.

I don't know very much about dermal anchoring, but I do know they are doing it at Body Manipulations in San Francisco. I had a piercer at DV8 in Concord that was doing 'em but she moved...
